Day 1 of 42 – WOD at Club Med Paris

After many futile attempts to find the elusive CrossFit France in Paris, I settled on Club Med Gym. Day 1 of my 42-day Challenge had me doing treadmills and dumbbells. Easy to find anywhere. I also found a broomstick in the gym, which would only excite CrossFitters and witches… Oh yes, the treadmills and the dumbbells were on two separate floors connected by a steel spiral staircase, which added to the mystery for the locals on what the hell I was doing…

Warm-up

100 wall squats with broomstick: )
80 pushups
60 sec handstand (3×20 sec)
40 pullup (hit my head on the ceiling trying to do kipping)

WOD

3 rounds for time:

– 400m run
– 15 manmakers 25# DB

(These manmakers are brutal!!!)

22:50 min

Cash-out 5 single double unders. (Took me a while…)

REST!!!

WOD free Sunday….

Getting ready for a 6-week work trip and some vacation. Along the way I’ll be reporting how they do kettlebell swings in Bratislava or ring dips in Beijing. And maybe getting to know some crossfitters around the world. Oh, I may also learn a sport or two…

WOD – 07.16.11 – KoP DASH!

Now this was a tough one after a tough week…. I take the 31:30 as good as any…

Great team spirit at CF KoP as we were scaling those walls…

  • Cargo Net climb
  • Wall Ascent 6ft
  • Wall Ascent 8ft
  • Rope Climb
  • Flying Pull-up bars
  • Tire Sled Drag 100 feet (135#)
  • Monkey Bars
  • 20 Burpees
  • 100M outdoor sled pull (200#)
  • 100 M Prowler push (100#)
  • 100M Tire flips
  • 400M Sandbag Run

Seriously…. It was a good early warning for CMC.

WOD – 07.15.2011

OK. I’m new to barbells. As such any barbell workout is already a half win when I show up…

Today’s WOD was

warmup – 800m run

AMRAP in 15 minutes:

– 5 hang cleans
– 5 front squats
– 5 push jerks

I didn’t even have line is sight to the Rx of 155#. I got to practice form at 75# and realized it is a long until I will clear RX on all the lifts…

Oh yes, and every body part now hurts… Except the ears.
