Paleo Mumbai

India provided an amazing variety of food choices and so far the easiest place to stay Paleo. In Mumbai the Kebab places skip the heavy sauces, have plenty of veggies, fruit and probably a lot of spices… For some reason they think beer was created for Kebabs but so far I managed to resist the pressure…

After bread obsessed France and Italy this was a welcome change of diet…

Day 32 of 42 – Mumbai WOD

Another great dry day in Mumbai which is quite an accomplishment in the middle of the monsoon season! Maybe it stays this good for my Friday sightseeing day after all my meetings…

Quite a training with CFOM this morning! As their motto goes: “Nobody every drowned in their own sweat”…

100ft walking lunges between every set of:

Day 31 of 42 – Crossfit Mumbai


I arrived at 1am to my hotel in Mumbai after a 10-hour trip from Paris. The monsoon season is still in full force and it was pouring down all night. The morning was clear enough to head over to the beach and meet Dheepesh at Crossfit Mumbai. It is an amazingly dedicated group of athletes getting up super early for a  tough WOD.

Strength Training

3-3-3-3 of Back Squats

154-200-220-240 lbs (new PR!!)

WOD

3 rounds of:

– 7 Handstand Pushups
– 14 Toes to Bar
– 20 One hand KB swings (16kg/35lbs)

Day 30 of 42 – First Fight in France

I’m staying at the Hilton Charles de Gaulle in Paris and amazingly their gym had two C2 rowing machines. I doubt they were ever turned on… I took it as a sign for a fight to go bad….

Fight Gone Bad

3 rounds, 1 minute each of:

– Wall balls 20#
– Sumo deadlift high pull 75#
– Box jumps 20′
– Push press 75#
– Rowing (calories)

TOTAL: 243

Now off to the airport for India…

Day 29 of 42 – Last WOD in Hungary

I squeezed in a last workout before heading to Budapest Airport. I will sure miss the squat rack and Oly barbells at this gym. The locals learned about Crossfit which is all but unknown here and I learned that Hungary is the home of Olympic weightlifting. The international weightlifting federation is headquartered here.
No wonder I saw so many powerlifters…

Warm-up

– 50 airsquats
– 20 pullups
– 30 situps
– 5 handstand pushups (wish I could do more…)

WOD

As many reps as possible in 10 minutes:

– 15 overhead squats 95#
– 10 dips
– 5 burpees

SCORE: 3 rounds @ 77#
(barbells have kg increments)

OHS as usual is punishing all my shoulder inflexibility issues… well getting closer to Rx one day…
