Dawn in Dubai

By the time we all got to Dubai it was 3 o’clock in the morning. Not that it slowed down anyone as Sheikh Zayed Road was busier with cars than 5th Avenue. A fantastic day touring the tallest building on earth, Burj Khalifa and the biggest mall on earth, the Dubai Mall… It is time for Dubai’s 8 Crossfit Affiliates to join forces to create the biggest Crossfit box in the world. It would only be fitting this city. So was the benchmark workout I knocked out in a local gym while the town roasted in the 100F heat…

The Call of the Desert

On my way to the airport I stopped in the office gym to get properly prepped for the long flight. Exciting two weeks ahead, I may meet the fire breathers at CF Lifespark who produced the Asia regional champion last year… Also returning to Dheepesh and friends at CrossFit OM in Mumbai (time to put some yoga back in the WOD…). And who knows, maybe also some more street workouts along the way…

Crazy Eights

I decided to have a couple of longer workouts before the 12-hour flight tomorrow night to Dubai. This way my body will crave the rest and ignore the design flaws of the airline seats… Looking forward to my drop-ins at CrossFit Lifespark in the 100F heat…

Street Workout Challenge

Street Workout is taking over streets from Brooklyn through Switzerland to Russia. It was time for me to succumb to the challenge and build it into a WOD – and do these tough moves for time… I had to substitute things like bus stops and metal trashcans but most other things could be done around my house… A great fun way to destroy my arms.

Street WOD
10 Left to Right / Right to Left sliding wide pullups
20 diamond pushups
10 car bumper dip (or 20″ box)
20 clapping pushups
10 bus stop pull-up (dead-hang pull-up with fists together on bar)
20 metal trash can curl (or 45lb bar)
10 horizontal leg levers while hanging from bar
20 toes to bar
10 jumping muscle ups
20 pull-up holds with horizontal pushups against bar
