Warm Winter Welcome in Chile

It is an unusually warm week in Santiago so we were lucky at least during the day basking in the warm sun. By night winter returned closer to the expected chilly range.

No time for skiing on this trip or even a visit to one of the dozen local boxes so I had to settle one of the many Pacific Fitness gyms that let you get a daypass for about $10. If you get beyond the rows of machines, there are great sets of barbells, dumbbells and in the one I went to – you could even drop your weight on the rubber floor (gasp).

I found Santiago an amazingly nice city and Chile seems to be vibrating with energy. A lot of runners especially around the river and the parks in Centro. There are open air gyms in some of the parks here but I could not find them.
